Music by Richard Rodgers
Lyrics by Lorenz Hart
Performed by Dorothy Loudon
In a 1933 press release, Clark Gable, Wallace Beery, and Buster Keaton were scheduled to film cameo appearances, while Jean Harlow, Nina Mae McKinney, and Joan Crawford were to perform musical numbers written by Rodgers & Hart ("Prayer", which later became "Blue Moon", "I'm One of the Boys", and "Black Diamond").

  • Not only that. According to some sources the song was written for marie dressler. You can se the punchline: dressler dressed as a man mistaken for Beery.

  • What movie?

  • "People ask me dearie, ain't you Wallace Beery"

For further academic study, I read the Wikipedia article on Wallace Beery, who does indeed seem to have been one of the boys.
