Joseph H. Friedman, MD is a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders. He evaluates and treats people with Parkinson's disease, tremors, tics, walking abnormalities, involuntary movements and disturbances of coordination. These may be medication induced, inherited or of unknown origin. Dr. Friedman is involved in teaching this discipline to neurologists, psychiatrists and other health professionals, as well as clinical research aimed at better understanding and treatments. He is a professor of neurology at Brown, adjunct professor in the College of Pharmacy at URI, Editor in Chief of Medicine and Health, RI, the state's medical journal, on the editorial board of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders of the World Federation of Neurology and Clinical Director of the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
