Here's a pretty rare commercial I've only seen once or twice before I recently found it. It was one of the many toys that was part of Disney's big promotion to their live-action/CGI "Dinosaur" movie that came out in 2000. This toy was their attempt to cash in on the "Furby" trend, the "Dino Alive!" interactive dinosaur egg featuring a baby version of the title character, Aladar.

The basic premise of the toy is that once opened, you hold the egg and wait for it to hatch (as you can hear the dinosaur breathing, its heartbeat and scratching against the shell), then once Aladar hatches out of the egg, you play with him and feed him (a small plastic "branch" is his food of choice), and he will roar and yowl and sometimes talk to you (with phrases like "I'm Aladar!" or "Let's go!") and the more you play with him, the more he will do (again, just like a Furby!) You can even reset the toy and put him back in the egg to re-hatch him over and over again.
At least it doesn't have a mother dinosaur doll that gives birth to the egg, like the WuvLuv! (They both share the same "Re-birth" feature though.)

Disney cartoon fans will recognize the announcer for this commercial as the one and only Jim Cummings, the current voices of Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Peg Leg Pete, the Big Bad Wolf, Bonkers D. Bobcat, Cat (of CatDog), the Tasmanian Devil, Dick Dastardly and many others!

  • Is it just me... or is that kid at 0:22 wearing eyeliner?

  • @ashtonsporedragon3 Well keep in mind, this was made during the virtual pet craze Furby started in 1998. There's a similar commercial I loved that I am trying to find, for Harry Potter's "Roarin' and Snorin' Baby Norbert" dragon, which as the name implies, was a similar toy but of baby Norbert the dragon, who was interactive and could roar, move his mouth and wings, and even fall asleep when tired (IDK if you could feed him, and he wasn't in an egg though.)
