@nomorev6 yea but you dont get the bump up in compression like when you do the pi swap. the pi swap puts you at more hp and tq than the 99-04 gt's. puts you up with the 05-09GT's.

It's alot more simple just to put a pi motor in your 96 to 98 gt, I hate fucken with heads , it's a pain in the ass, I got my motor out of a 03 gt for 700 bucks , but also I only had a v6 at first ,watch my vids it's preety fast .

PI swap is the way to go. i kept my stock NPI heads so i can use a better cam but for better compression and better exhaust flow numbers the PI head is better
