This is a collection of different poems that I composed myself. In the traditional poetic style of the early Tang to late Ming dynasties
(940 AD-1720 AD) , this very special video of nice Chinese poems draws its attention to beautiful Chinese culture and history.

The following are the two poems displayed in the video:

The Tale of the Wind Dragon

The wind dragon soars up into the sky, flying over the mountains surging high. From the top of the world he sees down upon the earth, trees, humans and animals alike with which his certainty can deliver, but not explain. That which is down there is also up there in the clouds, hooked tightly by the dreams and thoughts of people. Of what we perceive as great and wide is small from a distance. Yet beauty resides in both large and small. With great harmony, freedom came to the wind dragon and he notices that harm is no more in his heart, as he sees the world so small from high up above. A balance, delicate yet beautiful engraved onto a shining blue marble in deep black, and without noticing the wind dragon sees with the eyes of god.

The Lonely Road

The morning mist covers delicate leaves in a crystal coating,
A blossom bird lets waves of music pass through the misty air,
And through a veil of crystal and mist steps through the mountain monk,
His eyes fixed on his path reflecting nature and its life,
While soft rain begins to fall a butterfly passes the lonely road carrying a veil of colors behind its wings, painting the air around him like an artist; imagining, creating, portraying the picture of the world.
Through the eyes of an old Elm tree, its history lays upon this lonely road letting each day pass by, the change of seasons coloring the leaves as they sway in delicate autumn wind.
By the blossoms of spring comes by the honeybee,
collecting the seeds of purity,
Spreading new life by the lonely road to grow,
While its petals fall into soft snow.
A river that resides beside,
Coated with thin ice,
Cold yet gently covering the sides,
Letting gold fish rest,
Until summer awakes them at its best.
And so the seasons change,
but the lonely road stands still,
watching over what treads upon its history,
While life moves on slowly yet blissfully.

  • The world would be a more peaceful place if everybody listened to this kind of music and relaxed to the words of the poems. Excellent work as always, TheBuddhaLight.

  • @MathWhiz234 Thank you so much for the encouragement. It means a lot to me, as it motivates me to continue composing many more poems.

    Blessings to you,

    TheBuddhaLight.

  • YES !

Well done my friend , both of interest and calming my experience !

    Thank you .

  • @fleadle34 Thank you very much. I appreciate he feedback!

  • @blueheronarts By the way, I have added the poems to the video description, the editor did not allow me to adjust thepoems to my form, therefore I had to use extended lines, yet I tried my best in slowing down the scroll. The misty mountain part is my personal favorite, it reminds mne of your great landscape paintings, that is why I added the mist to make it look lively and beautiful.

Thank you Henry for all of your great work here on Youtube,

the best wishes to you in California!

  • I didn't know that you write good Chinese stle poems in English! Nice video editing skill with very smooth panning and zooming effects. I love the misty mountains 2:11. The Chinese erhu music is the first time I hear it but I like it a lot. The only thing that bothers me is some peoms did not have line breaks so it's hard for me to read. You may put them in the video description.

  • @blueheronarts Thanks for the kind encouragement. I have written poems since I was a child, and still enjoy writing many. I especially like the way China deals with poetry and styles, not longer than a few years ago I tried myself on writing poems in traditional Chinese styles, and today I can experience the full virtue and greatfulness for the Chinese literatural culture. The Ehru is a great instrument, one of my favorite in traditional Chinese music compositions. ^^
