Dragonfruit

My dragonfruit cacti that I grew from the seeds of a dragonfruit purchased at a local Asian market. The fruit has a slight sweet taste and has the texture of kiwi. The cacti are one week old and growing quickly.
To grow the Dragonfruit Cactus follow these steps-
1. Take a few seeds from the dragonfruit and set wash the pulp away from every seed.
2. Once the seeds are dry place some soil inside of a small container and scatter the seeds along the surface of the soil.
3. Wet the soil and then place the small container inside of ziplock bag to keep high humidity
4. Place it in a place that is warm and gets plenty of sun (every two days check the soil to make sure it doesn't dry out)
5. Check to see if the seeds have sprouted (the seeds have a high propagation rate so don't plant too many)

Cool. I didn't have luck with these seeds. I bought a whole plant off ebay 2 years ago and it's still growing. Hopefully my Mom will stop hacking it back enough for it to flower. X-D

i have 1 here in Ireland, and the cactus between the seed leaves is about and inch now, and at the botom of the catus between the seed leaves again it is forming another cactus!! :D

real proud of it!! hopefully it will grow mad in the new year when things heat up again!! :D

@underoath2k7 Haha. My dragon fruit plants have the cactus part but at the time they are really tiny. I have about twenty that worked I knew that I shouldn’t have planted so many seeds. I also hope that mine start to take off during the spring and summer because right now it is too cold (-10 outside) for any new growth.

Great video, I once had a few dragon plants but left it at home when I went away and they died at the hands of my mom - now I'm going to try to grow some from seed.
