Cool timelapse. These maggots sometimes show up in my worm farm. I generally try to eradicate them because they can out compete the worms and unlike the worms, my fish won't eat them.

they like human feces...and you know this how? And are these in minutes?

I use a composting toilet and feed these guys every time someone takes a dump.
They consume an average turd in 30 min. Gone! They even eat the toilet paper if it has piss on it. They eat all table scraps, rotten meats, sour milk, anything organic and leave no smell. They kill off regular fly eggs so no flies. The Soldier fly is harmless with no mouth or stinger thus does not spread disease or bite.

they didnt eat the fishes spine they didnt clean their plate. to think that maggots in 3rd world countries are starving with nothing to eat and these fucking western maggots leave a whole spine!

aw look..the fish get to swim again..in a lake of maggots..how sweet. :D
they also make great feeders for reptiles.
