image is very blurred and distored for the final product unfortunately. great to just mess around with, but if you plan on taking it seriously, mask out the glow so you dont ruin quality on the trees and leaves. once you mask the sky out, duplicate that, then use your gausian blur idea, or you can take the smudge and pull down with it to have a ray effect. nice ideas though

@RadialPenguin i like the glow, but if you want to avoid the blur, you could skip the gaussian blur step, and lower the opacity of the two top layers. The original image wasn't of any spectacular quality itself.
