  • I cannot recommend quality CFL lamps enough.

If you have a 12W bulb to replace a 60W incandescent bulb - and you buy an expensive one that lasts ~15,000 hours (like Osram brand) that single lamp will save you $200+ over the lamps service life, and will save the environment literally 1,000 lbs CO2 emissions.

    One bulb. Think about it.

  • Kilowatt meters. Everybody should have one.

If the Government or Local authority supplied one to school children and demonstrated how to safely use it. Children could then demontrate it to parents and show them how to save energy at home and save the planet.

Do you think that is a Bright Light of an idea ?

  • One should use modern windows and doors that will keep the heat out, thus saving a lot on energy bills. Additionally, a person must insulate his/house for any heat to escape by carrying out a thorough weather-stripping.
