Cool Invisible Mario Kart Menu Trick/Glitch (MK Wii)

Just a trick/glitch I encountered accidentally when I messed with Mario Kart Wii one day...

Instructions:
You'll need two controllers!
1. Select 'Multiplayer' mode with at least two controllers connected.
2. Select 'VS Race', then 'Solo Race'.
3. Both player select the same characters PLUS the same kart/bike.
4. Finish a race.
5. ???
6. SCORED!

I haven't tried selecting bikes instead or playing with more than 2 players, you could try and tell me the result!
