Jack Gibbons' song 'Love Me, I Love You' Op.29, a setting of the words of Christina Rossetti (1830-1894), sung by Suzanne Fleming-Atwood (soprano), accompanied by the composer (recorded in Elkins, West Virginia, USA, October 13 2011).
The video is accompanied by portraits by Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) of his children: Lucien, Minette, Georges-Henri, Félix, Ludovic-Rodo, Cocotte and Paul-Émile. Of the seven Pissarro children who survived beyond infancy Jeanne-Rachel (known as "Minette") was perhaps her father's favourite. She appears in more portraits than any of her siblings. When she was just eight years old Minette became ill with TB, and Pissarro's paintings and drawings of her last year are deeply moving. Minette's brother Félix also contracted TB, his early death at 23 cutting short what his father felt was an extremely promising artistic career.
