@timonoko He definately has extra, fresh batteries with him... Not like he uses the same battery the entire trip. And yes the batteries do work in -40 C. Just not for very long. There's usually some period every year where there's between -30c and -40c where I live and we still go to school and drive to work etc. "Nothing works" is an overstatement.

i wonder if anyone has ever try using a thermal camera and observe these husky dog, i mean people seem to think that these type of dogs "like", the cold, I'm thinking they've no choice, beside being tied down. i bet if you gave them a warm area they would go and sleep inside rather then spend the night out in the cold

@timonoko he says in one of the episodes that he can only use his camera for short periods of time when it's very cold. And he says he gets supplies sent by mail from norway which he picks up in the various towns he passes through.
