  • use a bathtub, not the sink. about 1000 times better.

  • Use Goop. $6 for a huge tube, and veery strong. No need for additional fabric reinforcement. On fabric, it will never come off. Super handy stuff, don't spend $8 for a tiny patch kit. Goop will definitley do the job.

  • After time patches may come off!!! sorry, but repaired my thermorest on several occasions. I have found a new product called "aquaseal" used for fixing wetsuites and dingy's.

You can use the glue/gel type substance on it's own by applying 2 thin coats, over the tear/rip in a 48hr period

or by applying a hardner for a more faster drying time!!!!!!!!!!!

this product is fantastic for fixing thermorest

tape around rip to keep neat

the patch is very srong, flexible and won't lift up at the edges!!!!!

  • self repair is advised over sending it in to therma-rest. their repair dpartment is over whelmed with repair request. it took 2 months to get my pad back and it still leaked. it took me 5 minutes to repair on my own and it was a lot neater then the manufacturer's reprevious repair.
