How To Have 6 Followers in Fallout 3 (Including Fawkes)

Jericho, Clover, Charon, Star Paladin Cross, Fawkes and Dogmeat's Puppy

This is a more detailed description on how to get 9 or 10 followers:

Jericho - Go to Megaton and get Jericho. He will ask for 1000 caps or 500 if you have a high enough barter level. You need bad karma to get him.

Clover - Go to Paradise Falls and go into Eulogy's Pad. Eulogy will let you buy Clover from him for 1000 caps or 500 if you have a high enough barter skill. Make sure you fire Jericho right before you talk to Eulogy so when you buy clover you can turn around and get Jericho before Clover talks to you. You need bad karma to get her.

Dogmeat - Go to the Scrapyard located South of the Minefield and West of Canterbury Commons, get him, and kill him, this will open another follower slot. It does not matter if your bad or good to get Dogmeat.

Charon - Go to Anacostia Crossing (subway station closest to Rivet City) and follow it until you get to the Museum of History/Mall exit. Go into the Museum of History, then go into Underworld. Once in, go to your left and up the stairs into the 9th Circle talk to Azrahkul about Charon and He will let you buy Charon's contract for 2000 caps or 1000 if you have a high bartering skill. Or you can kill Gretta from Carol's Place to also get Charon;s contract. It does not matter if you're good or evil to get him.

Sergent RL-3 - Go to the Robco Facility located north-east of Tenpenny Tower, and talk to Tinker Joe. He will let you buy Sergent RL-3 for 1000 caps or 500 if you have a high enough barter skill. Make sure you do the exact same thing I told you to do to get both Jericho and Clover except you fir Charon and buy Sergent RL-3. You need Neutral karma to get Sergent RL-3.

Fawkes - Go to the Museum of History lobby and Fawkes should be there if you completed Finding the Garden of Eden quest and after you talk to him outside Raven Rock. Remember to fire Sergent RL-3 before you get Fawkes. You need good karma to get him.

Star Paliden Cross - Go to the Citadel and find Star Paliden Cross and speak to her exactly in this order: say: You knew my father?
she'll say something, then say: I loved him so much. I'll never forget him.
she'll say something, then say: I don't suppose i could stop you.
then she'll say something, then say: I would be honored Star Paliden Cross.
Then she'll follow you. You need good karma to get her.

Dogmeat's puppy - Once you reach level 22, and since you have to kill dogmeat to get 6 followers, you can get the puppies! perk (if you have Broken Steel) and Dogmeat's puppy will spawn outside vault 101. It does not matter if your bad or good to get Dogmeat's puppy.

Now, you might be able to get RL-3 back because since at the beginning, Jericho and Clover where glitched to where it was like they didn't take up any follower slots, and so was Charon and Fawkes, and Star Paliden Cross and Dogmeat's puppy, so maybe you still have 1 technical follower slot available. So try to get RL-3 from Canterbury Commons, and seeing as you need Neutral karma to get him, Paliden Cross won't leave you because you need to have bad karma to lose her. So you might wanna try and get RL-3.

Shorty and Red - They're technically not followers because in the quest Big Trouble in Big Town you have to take them from the Germantown Police building and they'll follow you everywhere you go except if you go to bigtown, they'll leave.
They can also hold Weapons and armor if you give them some, but they're really easy to kill so watch out.

There is also another guy in Little Lamplight Caverns that had his birthday and has to leave. You can offer to take him to bigtown and he'll follow you everywhere except when you get to bigtown, he'll leave. He also holds weapons and armor if you give him some and is easy to kill, as with Shorty and Red.

Now you have 9 or 10 followers! A small army under your control! Happy hunting

how do i get clover then if i have to rescue the kids to open little lamplight. last time i did that the guards started shooting at me and that would make me not get clover

@milplayer17 I got clover first, then did that quest. You also don't need to rescue the kids to open little lamplight, I think you can speech-check the guy at the door to let you in. I haven't played fallout 3 in forever, so I don't know if my memory is correct. I know that if you get Clover first, then you won't have any problems though.

how come i lost my followers when i got captured getting the geck and i woke up in enclave with a guy wanting the password

@milplayer17 Pause at 0:19. The 'Garden of Eden' (Or the G.E.C.K. quest) will glitch out your followers because they send your followers back to where you originally found them, except RL-3, who'll go to Canterbury Commons. Any DLC will do that too, which is why you should do Raven Rock, Garden of Eden, and any DLC you want before getting your followers this way.

I got good karma and wanted Fawkes but icant find him in the museum. Is it because I activated the quest 'take it back'
