Tim Eriksen: Christmas Carol "Star in the East"

Another favorite carol. I think the way I sing it is kind of a mix of the Southern Harmony and American Vocalist versions.

My brother lives on a boat that's on the Vineyard at the moment. It was strange to go from frozen woods to soggy beach, but I guess things are melting back home too. I haven't been around salt water that much in recent years, which makes it extra potent. I was reminded of the incredible variety in the color of scallop shells. I tried watching the "lord of the rings" last week, but the incessant action and sweeping music made it so boring by comparison (to the scallop shells I mean). I did watch about an hour of it though, which is the most movie watching I've done in a long time, except for cartoons.

Brilliance! I almost had a panic attack while watching Lord of the rings. I liked "Chrystal" and "Cold mountain" way better. Oh you had some great songs in those movies!

Oh this is so beautiful. Last year, your "O Sight of Anguish" was so beautiful, I wanted to learn to sing it. This year I'll try to learn this one. I love a minor key.

Also, the quality of the video is very impressionistic--a cool effect. What is that light in the background? A fire? Or is it the sun rising?

It's a Christmas tree someone put out on their dock. I think the video quality is just low for some reason, but it does look kind of cool...
