Here we look at building a Diffused Surface Illumination (DSI) multitouch setup using an infrared light source to light up fingers/objects placed on the surface and a camera to track the blobs.

  • @kanamekuran23 The PS Eye camera usb drivers only work in Windows, Mac and Linux, so if your tablet has those OS then you can use the tablet.

  • @iamthesilverlining There are many projectors to use on the market. To keep prices low, I'd recommend a used or refurbished projector. You'll want to find a short throw projector with a lens already on it.

  • @PeauProductions i just found the buyers guide at environment lights and it has answered 90 percent of my questions. the only thing i am left with is if you could recomend a wide angle projector? or should i get a projector and put a wide angle lense over it. im trying to keep this project under 500$, and the projector is the last thing i need.

  • @PeauProductions Okay so for a 32 inch set up, one 5 meter strip from your site should be plenty to wrap the acrylic, plus the power supply, 2 spacers. When i cut the strips to insert the spacers, what do i use to wire them back together so i can plug them into the power supply? Do you have any particular projector and camera you would recommend for a low setup?

  • @iamthesilverlining You'll want to look at an led calculator to figure out the strands of LEDs based on the voltage/current they can take and the voltage/current of your power supply. Then you simply wire each strand of LEDs in series to each other in parallel. Or you can just buy the LED ribbons we sell for a much easier setup.
