It really sucks.
I've lost so many friends over the years, they've been sucked into the black hole of no return that people with sense know as the Call of Duty series. My friend completely ignored me and started talking with the CoD fanboys. I've moved on since then, I dunno how far he got in life so far. In a basement somewhere, probably.

I'm not trying to jump on the "fuck CoD" bandwagon because it IS really pretentious, but...
I had a friend who got MW2 a few years ago. I played it with him for a few weeks and got bored with it, and then shit hit the fan.
Whenever we hung out together, he would sit on the couch playing CoD with his noise-cancelling headset on, preferring his online friends to his real ones. I couldn't talk to him, and he didn't seem to acknowledge my presence.

Whenever I played a game like this he would take one look at it and say something along the lines of "wow, the graphics are terrible, this game sucks."
At that point, I didn't really care about his opinions, because we didn't do anything together anymore. It was to the point where I would just go over his house and watch him play CoD.
I didn't want to lose a good friend. But I had to.
