Porto de Galinhas Beach #2: The Village [In English]

ENGLISH: Porto de Galinhas is continuously elected the best beach in Brazil, and it is easy to see the reasons. It is an amazingly beautiful area, with warm and clear water, natural reefs and a very nice village. We spent a couple of days in Porto de Galinhas beach and we did snorkelling and scuba diving, all filmed in HD High Definition. The Brazilian state of Pernambuco, in the North-east of Brazil, is a paradise for scuba divers, as the water conditions are just about perfect. There are many ship wrecks as well, including in Porto de Galinhas and Recife, Pernambuco's capital. Recife is one of the 2014 Brazilian World Cup host cities. Porto de Galinhas is a beach in the municipality of Ipojuca, Pernambuco, Brazil. Porto de Galinhas is a major tourist destination. The beach is famous for its bright-water beaches and the natural pools.It is part of the municipality of Ipojuca, and located 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of the state capital, Recife.
It has been voted "Best Brazilian Beach" for the eighth time in a row by the readers of Voyage & Tourism Brazilian magazine. According to this magazine, the main reasons given are the beauty of the natural pools (the closest to the coast in all of Brazil, the ecological trails, the hotel infrastructure and the proximity to a large city and the airport in Recife.

Porto de Galinhas é uma conhecida praia do nordeste brasileiro, localizada no município de Ipojuca, no estado de Pernambuco. Sua fama se deve, principalmente, às belezas naturais: piscinas de águas claras e mornas formadas entre corais, estuários, mangues, areia branca e coqueirais. Inicialmente, a praia era chamada de Porto Rico, e a madeira de Pau Brasil era o principal produto comercializado. No auge da escravidão no Brasil, este porto era o principal ponto de comércio de escravos ilegais no nordeste brasileiro, muitas vezes os mesmos chegavam escondidos embaixo de engradados de galinhas d'angola. A chegada dos escravos ilegais ao porto costumava ser anunciada pela frase "tem galinha nova no porto!". Desta forma, a praia de Porto Rico ficou conhecida como Porto das "Galinhas".
Toda a região é muito frequentada por turistas, que admiram a beleza natural da região. Porto de Galinhas também é frequentada por surfistas, de diversas nacionalidades.

@honest413 There are probably a couple of churrascarias em Porto de Galinhas, but I'm sure the best ones are in Recife, 50km north and the entry point to the whole region.
