Im not quite sure what this proves, il be honest the Vista laptop had a few programs and games installed, and the XP laptop was virtually free of stuff. All the programs you install affect the speed of the laptop. Ive wiped the XP laptop over 10times at one point it had lots of programs installed and it took nearly 4 minutes to boot up! So my advice is, keep your laptop clean of crap, download cleaners to speed it up (cccleaner, regcure...) and once a while, if your confident wipe it clean and start again (remember drivers!! )

After recieving an email from an IT Technician saying this video is innacurate, I've decided to change the title and purpose, this video was never really meant to be a serious video, it obviously doesn't show a fair test and I apologise for it being unproffesional.
This video is not a fair test or an accurate review, i understand if people are angry with the video.


UPDATE:
I Have recently dual booted xp and vista on the dell, with succesfull results! Xp turns on in less that 40 seconds which shows how demanding vista is!

are you kidding the vista lap top is 3 times as powerful and takes almost twicw as long to long. Xp on a low end p3 loads faster than vista on a dual core computer.

@isorSOT Its not because vista sucks, because they add new registry entries and stuff to the new computers, so that makes it boot a bit slower. (The older the cpu, the less it needs to load.) :)

the system settings are screwed by the user i would bet you can get much more performance if you handle it right
