strange and enchanting , and no good as an audio test of the 5D,but thats ok,
My best results are ...decent mic into zoom....line out from zoom into 5d ... manual control of audio level on 5d all the way back down to almost nothing ...sounds great!

Horrible sound (hiss)

How is the quality of the on-camera mic? Is there a lot of noise?

@DEDStudios The on-camera mic is decent if you record audio in a vacuum. The on camera mic will pick up every single sound the camera and lens produces on top of wind noise. I suggest a rubber mounted mic like the Rode VideoMic or Pro, Sennheiser MKE400 or the AZDEN SMX-10.

@Canon1dm4 Thanks a lot, i appreciate it. Do you have any experience with the AZDEN SMX-10?

@DEDStudios I do not own a AZDEN SMX-10. I own and use an AZDEN SMG-1 shotgun XLR microphone with a Pearstone LMT-100 adapter. The sound is great for $160.

i been search far and wide for a video such as this!!!! i have a question how do you control the AGC????? do you go to manual and adjust the volume all the way up, some where in the middle or do you turn it all the way down???

@lp22hot AGC activates when you are in automatic mode in the sound menu. When you are in manual, you want to physically adjust the sound level according to the sound meters on the LCD display. In manual audio mode, the sound level will not "automatically" rise or lower to give you that "hiss".
