Well....when i first heard dave's post transylvania solo I wasn't a guitarist yet and I wasn't able to understand how frreaking good that is!!! it's something that goes technichally beyond EVERY guitarist back then!!! there wasn't anything as hard, technichal and fast as this 'till malmsteen!!
And it's a shame that Dave doesn't alternate pick like that anymore I like this crazy picking/legato style way more than his "nearly 100%legato style"

it appears as if people don't give enough credit to Dave Murray and always say oh Dimebag oh Dimebag is amazing, but I think Murray was and is much better
