That's correct - this is filmed at the Burpengary Xcountry course (though it's changed a bit now with a number of new replacement jumps). We were at the Waterford HT, Allira rode in the 15yr & under Improvers group.

It's not fair. Your daughter is an amazing rider! She is 12, an excellent rider, owns a horse, and is better then me!! lol Her horse is a bit 2 big, but it doesnt effect her riding one bit! Plus, at 12, she has a lot of growing to do!

Thanks grace - Allira's now 13 and most of this footage was taken around Jan 2006 - so she's grown a few inches since then. Also her & Vegemite now have had near on a full year of lessons/training behind them and her riding & Vege's training have both come along dramatically (where most of the jumping in the video was over beginners level, they're now going over the Open jumps, which are around 1* level).

Yes you are correct she should be releasing & that was one of the areas that her trainer was working on. But heh, given that these were basically her first ever efforts going over most of these jumps there was always that little bit of fear factor in play so hanging on the bit is understandable - hit a showjumping rail it falls down, hit a cross country jump YOU fall down.... It is now 7 months since that footage was done and her technique and confidence has come along greatly.

How cute! She looks so tiny on that horse :') I always wanted to ride the big horses when I was little, and now I wish I was short enough to ride tiny ponys again xD

Surely can ;) Vegemite is like Promite but more of a bitter taste, it is black spread and goes well on bread with butter (tastes good on a sandwich with cheese, onion and soy sauce lol)

yeah cool, my friend went to the burpengary ODE and said the new jumps were good!.. oh cool i did the 16 & over 50cm haha, it was my horses first ever XC and we went clear so was very happy lol
