That's 24 million down the crapper for starters. The coast guard is a complete failure and waste of tax dollars. Comprised of nincompoops who have failed at everything in life yet they prove to be very proficient at leaching off the tax nipple. Come to think of it, these little idiots have not had a fatality in three days, it's about time for one of these buttwipes to crash something in a drunken haze. Let's count the days. Today is Day 1

Well watching this video...at :37 you can completely tell Mr. Cummings is disgusted with the CG by his facial expressions. Glad he's on the sub-committee to work with the CG. Some how he also knew something was wrong with the 123' before anyone else did...that's a pretty bold statement from someone with no nautical or naval architectural background. Why isn't he the contractor? It's a sunk-cost...it happens, move forward. Not all your investments turn into a gold nugget.

@superman0124 you missed the whole point. The 24 billion coast guard modernization program gave the coast guard money. However the money was given to the contractors, and they basically cheeped out to make a huge profit.

you want to know why the coast guard had horrible 123' patrol boats that were falling apart....look at the Coast Guard budget. who controls the coast guard budget? Congressman Cummings....yup you guessed it. the problem isn't with the coast guard...it's with Congress. you want better boats for the coast guard....give them more money so they don't have to hire cheap labor that YOU FORCE them to hire when you make their budget cuts. the coast guard is the service the does more with less....

This guy has something against the Coast Guard...always has and appears he always will. They made a mistake....but you all let them do it, so don't put all the hate on them. The Coast Guard is in no way worse shape...he has no clue what he is talking about. The CG does a great job....I cannot believe this man would speak so harshly about something he isn't apart of. Maybe he should look at all the lives the CG has saved since 2006.....The most it ever has!!!! Go blow smoke elsewhere
