December 2007. Stopped by a Fazioli piano dealership in Manhattan to test drive a few of these fine, expensive pianos that are hand crafted in Italy. They have a nice, bright and clear sound. (The test driver is not the poster, btw.)

Faziolis cost between 50.000 and 100.000 euros (that's EUROS) each, ranking them as the Rolls-Royce of pianos. They also happen to be Canadian-British pianist Angela Hewitt's piano of choice these days.

And no, we did NOT purchase one during this visit! It would have left us in the poor house!

  • Beautiful Piano! Not in the family budget though. My mom played, I can't even read notes. I just play a good CD or LP! LOL. All the girls played organ, flute or trumpet & one, French horn . I'm listening to the Leonard Bernstein " The Unanswered Question" six talks at Harvard. Very interesting. I'll check out some of the video's with this piano. Thanks

  • @Suz71bu Ha, ha, I can play the phonograph and CD player much, much better than I can the piano! Your girls are wonderfully talented in music - what a nice variety of instruments they played!

Bernstein did some very enlightening videos - too bad no one today who has his clout (hmm, does anyone today do so?) has carried on his work in educating the general public (esp. the youth) about classical music. Is that the Ives composition he refers to in the title?
