the massena public library during the month of march 2010 will be remembering the 1920's with a display of original photographs and artifacts supplied by johnswackyworld. this video covers some of the display of photographs and opening remarks from massena town supervisor joe gray. the massena high school jazz band plays a number to celebrate the rememberance of the crazy 1920's.

    During Prohibition,Narraganset Bay was a hotbed of smuggling rum too.

  • massena on the canadian border was also a very hot placed of bootleggers and rum runners bringing whiskey and beer to the lower new york cities. i lost an uncle. he disappeared in 1930 on a prohibition run. the family never saw him again. some real time gangsters probably got him. the canadian al capone also hide in massena until his death.

  • underground tunnels here still. but they are still secret.
