Plaza Sesamo had better sound effects than the English version.

  • I don't think so. I was a big fan of Sesame Street in the 90s, but I don't remember seeing any reruns of Count from the 70s or the 80s. Maybe the managers of the children's program didn't want the kids of the 90s to get scared of Count. I know that I was never scared of him when I was little.

  • The Count certainly did a great job of counting candles and by subtracting flames from them as of blowing them out. Wouldn't you agree to that, man?

  • Okay, then.

  • @finnishminnow: I saw the Spanish dub of this sketch on an episode today, one that was probably 2-3 years old (before the Things of the Day announcement/new closing were added). Too bad Telefutura doesn't show the episode numbers in their broadcasts!

  • That is so fucking good education for children

  • @wiley207 No kidding. This sketch is where my interest in flicker flame bulbs started and then the first time I saw these in a store, they reminded me of this clip.

  • @DismalSpectre00

that depends on what mythos of vampires you're looking at.... Bram Stoker's Count Dracula himself could walk in sunlight (even though he couldnt use his powers -- save for turning into a wolf or bat at midday)

  • heh..that thunder and lightning when the Count laughs is classic...

  • You'd think that being a vampire, the Count would see in the dark. And what's this? He's going to bed...at night?

  • @ncfwhitetigress:

That's right. That is correct! Vampires can supposedly see in the dark. And why is the Count going to bed at night? Vampires sleep during the day.

  • You probably hit the nail on the head.

  • I wondered that, too. It could be a parody to the name Wolf Euba, who was a German actor/narrator. Just a guess. Only Jerry Nelson or one of the writers from that time would know for sure.
