Yes, after we're done, we just put the embryo back in the egg and glue the shell back using crazy glue. You just have to be careful not to put any glue inside as the chick will remain stucked on the shell for ever. We can do the same thing with human babies actually. It is called abortion.

you need to get a fertilized chicken egg from a breeder/poultry farm. i don't think breed matters. turkey and duck eggs work also. you can get small incubators at feed mills.

i just cracked open the egg at 4 days old (this is for work) into a dish of warm saline, under a low power microscope. then i put my camera lens right up to the eyepiece of the scope - you can take pretty cool pictures that way.
