Since Woodrow was a shortsighted and easily corrupted man, he fucked us over in favor of gangster-like bankers and signed the Federal Reserve Act which has put us in a great deal of debt and has undermined our say in our own government.

@1polymath Competing currencies that are more localized, like a state currency would allow credit unions and such to still extend credit. Competition would force banks to be smarter with who and how much credit they lend out. Our current credit system drastically' inflates the money supply and serves to keep the elites who are at the top, there forever and without any competition. There are other alternatives out there, if you research. Gold and silver, like you mentioned. I'm still learning too

Thomas Jefferson cannot hope to have much merit in our society. Ppl in his time had to deal w/Native Americans, Slave Revolts, and wild animals so a gun was your best protection. Never could he have imagined the NRA, AK-47's and the war on crime and drugs!

@ThePelicans44 Not that I agree with a Private Banking System but I was curious to know in what way could we expand credit if it were not for the FED. If we go to a gold standard whereas only 300 billion dollars worth of gold can be circulated into the economy would seem very stagnant on economic terms. Also even if America credit defaults and goes bankrupt, the gold we have will make sure we always have a country since thats the only real currency we could trade internationally.

@54nomore that's debatable, his ideal form of a nation would consist of Yeomen farmers and little to do with a government that had some control of the Nations future. We all know that his second term was a disaster and he even admitted it himself... Jefferson had many flaws and is nowhere near the prestige of presidents like FDR, George Washington and Ronald Reagan. If it were up to him there would be a very weak government with no central bank and the debt from the Rev. wouldn't have been paid
