It is important for everyone to understand that when it comes to being overweight or obese, there have been studies published which prove that (unfortunately) we are not all created equal.

Michelle Pearl; fitness expert, author and entrepreneur of the FedUpFemale.com video blog debunks diet myths and fractures fitness product fairy tales. This topic: Weight Loss & The Race Card

  • Well said, I am back to my weightloss regime again only now I realise it is a lifestyle not a diet

  • @Dthevlogger Smart, smart girl. Here's to your new lifestyle! Pullin' for ya'. :) MP

  • I have a question. My boyfriend eats the worst diet you can imagine: just pizza, burgers, cream soda, pretty much everything greasy, salty and sugary. But his metabolism is crazy-fast so he's abnormally thin. I keep telling him, "You may be thin, but you have arteries like the rest of us." Is he putting himself at risk for future heart attack / stroke / other health problems?

  • @thinkkittens My father's family were all strong, fit Germans who ate fatty meats & sausages like they were the 6th food group. None of the men were fat; however, every one of them ended up with clogged arteries & heart disease. The only way your boyfriend is going to change is if one day the light bulb comes on over his head & he decides to work towards better health on his own. Until then, the best that you can do is lead by example & hope that perhaps one day he might choose to follow. :) MP

  • Depressing but I believe this to be true from personal experience. I also learned a bit....thank you for the information.

    I'm a 21 y.o. black woman with PCOS (+ hormonal imbalance). SUCKS!

  • @1fedupfemale Thanks so much for your answer. I showed it to my boyfriend and he said it sounded very fair. You're absolutely right that I can't change his behavior, only my own. As far as that goes, I'm dropping about 1/2 lb. a week just by changing a few food choices, eating smaller portions, and taking walks. You're very inspirational and I'm glad I ran across your youtube vids! Keep up the great work!

  • Its funny but all cultures and groups around the world and history have different views on body image. I wish I lived with the group that worshiped large goddess like women.

  • @phillytomcat

Hi Phillytomcat- Good 2 hear from u again!

The study cited in the video did not go into the REASON for the discrepancy in women (other than the common thread of racial identity) just the fact that the discrepancy is proven to exist.

I base all my videos on fact and research, so any statement I make about the physical differences with men would be purely conjecture. (Cont..)
