Robert E. Lee inherited his slaves from his father-in-law. He set them free overtime. Gen. Stonewall Jackson taught slaves to read and write even though it was against the law to do so. Both men wanted an end to slavery and saw it dieing slowly. One person who fails to ever be mentioned for owning slaves throughout the war and set them free only after the ratification of the 13th amendment is US Grant. Freedom ended on April 09, 1865.

Jews and muslems were and are the world's most notorious slave traders. And probably the only ones. The source from where they derive their moral standards is a bunch of scriptures held secret by the rabbi's and called the talmud. The quoran was written by these same rabbi's "inspired" by the talmud. the only other famous and notorious racists are the hindu's, to whom only the high class hindu's are considered real human beings. However it is mostly the christians accused of these crimes.

Lee was very pro slavery -- and never freed any slave, contrary to myth. Lee's letter defending slavery is one of few defenses of slavery that claim God intended slavery to be cruel and painful.
Lee whipped slaves, including young female slaves, in his barn. He whipped the women for running away.
If he didn't sell children slaves, he was one of the few Virgina slave owners that did not. Virginia was well known for selling slave chldren for the deep south to buy to pick cotton.
