maybe this is just me being ignorant, but what is the crowd doing with the strangely hilarious waving of the arms? i never got that, it's in gravitation too but i just don't get it

People wave their arms in unison in Japan at most concerts, unless perhaps if it was a hard rock concert. Not just waving, but sometimes other motions as well in unison. No one cares in Japan if you don't do it though.
