Interesting that people are saying VW are unreliable. They have the best track record in Europe and America. In fact, it's only Japanese manufacturers that are more reliable over all. As for the video I can't believe that GTi did as well as it did, especially if it was a standard 197. I just couldn't live with an EVO, it's too much effort. Got a Golf GTi pirelli with 300bhp (ish) and it's so easy to live with and cruises lovely.

i like the evo but the mr is shit. has the biggest turbo lag. and you see that because it took a bit for a 294hp evo to pass a 198hp gti. i have drivin both of them and off take off or a rolling start the mr goes no where. you get a much better responce from the gti.

That's not true. The DSG is the fastest shifting transmission in the world. The drive on them is very comfortable and solid. They are cheap but I don't believe VW's are reliable by any means. I have both evo and vw's at least be biast when it's true. BTW you spelled Saleen wrong guy.

Well no shit douche. That VRSEX will get worked on by a dodge colt with a AWD 4G64. Like it or not. VW = unreliable. I have owned 7 in my life. I still rock a 1979 16V MK1 Scirocco S. VR6T in MK2 unless awd swap = non functional burn out machine.

@lardauk i dont understand what u were trying to say with the last sentence but ill answer the question i think u were trying to ask. with the evo its not about flashy intiror or how nice the dash looks or plaid seats its about functionality. the rocaros are better then anything in a gti or subaru, the dash is what it needs to be nothing more, the gauge cluster is bright and easy to read. thats all i need. most if not all evo owners are performance nuts so its the perfect car for them :)
