Romans 7 is all about the humility that Paul expressed through his admission of how far short he was from the absolute perfection of God's Law. In my opinion, anyone who has to go beyond what the text says on the surface is not being honest with the context.

Paul said that he as carnal, and that sin had dwelt within him. That does not mean that he was living in sin, but that even though he was saved by Christ, he still had a mortal and sinful flesh. The flesh warred against his mind (v.23).

I think personally that it would behoove all of us if we were to attempt to be a bit more transparent and honest with those who we love and trust.

Are you sinless or do you sin less?

  • I am in your camp. I am attacked by those who claim they are sinless. Yet, I am not promoting sin. I feel like Paul. I wish I did not sin, but sometimes I fail to overcome sin, and ask forgiveness if I do.

  • @PHANTOMSLAYER777 Amen, to that, brother. And I thank you for your compliment.. God bless.

  • I dont think the "sinless perfectionist guys" claim to be be sinless themselves...I think they know its a process..called santification..a purifying, purgin gprocess....really what it comes down to is faith..Christ lived a perfect life because he was filled with the spirit without measure..and because he walked in complete faith..submitting his will to God..step my step...1 John 3: 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure...were to do the same thing

Thanks for your comment. But I most certainly have to disagree with you. The s.p. guys most definitely claim perfection. I've had discussions with quite a fw of them. They reject the idea that it's a process. They reject James 5:16 and 1 John 1:9. They are literalists when it comes to Matthew 5:48. The other problem with them is that they are very judgmental and hypocritcal as well. I'm not just saying this out of spite either. This is the honest to God truth.

  • Thank you so much. Very informative. I'm grateful that I'm weak; it makes me all the more dependent on my God.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @1nemind , Now I know for sure...

  • prasie God bra...

  • One guy that claims he is sinless told me that "occasionally" he would fall into sin. Well, then you are not sinless.

  • nThe sinful flesh is not the same as a sinful nature.I know longer have a nature of sin to live by.The Nature whom I am in Christ no longer has sin.1John The seed in Him cannot sin because he is born of God.The flesh is not nature Romans 6 the body is dead because of sin.Only the flesh sins not the nature we do do not have two natures Christ killed not only sin but all its power by Nature. The mistake is flesh is nature it is not.

  • Good video brother! The only way we can obtain sinless perfection is by clothing ourselves with the righteousness of Christ who IS our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:5-6)

I wonder if some of these ''sinless perfection'' guys have ever read 1 John 1:8, or the many other passages which shows how unbiblical their doctrine is.......
