I think I've heard of plans to rehang the shoes on another tree. Still, the idea that someone would drive out in the middle of the night in the middle of winter to cut down the shoe tree is surely a sign that anger rages in the most remote locations of our land. There are certainly better things to be upset about than shoes on a tree...and they made people smile. CW

I haven't seen any pictures of the stump....is it really cut down? It was a great little stop along Highway 50....

That wasn't very nice. This is the kind of person that pulls wings off flies and such.I think I first saw the shoe tree around 1997 with a few shoes. I recorded it about 2 years ago, too. Good song, a sad murder ballad, it looked like salad, lying on the ground...
