Hate to say it, but Dennet got taken to town... He's better off writing and researching.. not the best debater.

What is "Grot"?
-
@AraGuitar do not use those words publicly, religions people is offended when they read something they don't understand !
-
@ZSH2K10 LOL, your religion makes you get sick if people thinking different !?

It's painful to hear D'Souza yell about things he doesn't comprehend. His spiel about "laws" is just one of his rhetorical misunderstandings. The term "law" has a different meaning in cosmology. "Laws" make predictions about systems which have consistent behaviors. The "law of gravity" is just the mathematics that correspond to our observations. Science doesn't extrapolate: Ergo, bodies in motion "follow a law" in the man-made sense. They are merely affected by forces. And that's just one error.

I just can't take Dinesh's constant...underlying...panic. His is the throat-borne tone of a man who believes our collective embrace of his thoughts, words and feelings are necessary to build a literal ladder on which he must escape a burning building. He's a drowning swimmer, a trapped passenger in a multi-car collision, a snake-bite victim asking for anti-venin.
I don't feel like he's trying to save us. He's desperately trying to save himself.

@Jmsadv One example in his debate with Barker--in order to make Christianity look unified, he claims that Protestantism and Catholicism are 99% the same in beliefs. No way he believes that. Even among Protestant groups, the percentage isn't nearly that high. Take the most important doctrine of all, salvation--there is a great deal of disagreement. Faith alone? Faith + works? Easy believism/lordship? Once saved always saved? Can you sin too much and lose your salvation, etc...

@Jmsadv Been a while since I watched this, but I have made specific comments about D'Souza's misstatements. It's either in this debate, or his debate with Dan Barker. Let me know if you have a disagreement with the specific comments I made. And yes, you can lie in a debate, because if you make a couple hundred statements and lie 5-10 times, your opponent may or may not call you out on the lies, there just isn't enough time.
-
@mjt532 What are the facts that Dinesh got wrong and it should be very easy to debate Dinesh if he is the liar you claim instead of running away or refusing to even listen to him like some religious nut who insulates himself for whatever personal reasons.
-
Atheists are so ignorant. It's truly sickening.
I'm begging anyone who is considering debating D'Souza...don't do it, and eventually this compulsive liar might just go away. By debating hiim you're giving him a level of reputation he doesn't deserve. Go debate Craig, Kyle Butt, Gary Habermas...these guys are wrong, but they're not compulsive liars.

Although this is entirely ad hominem, I think Dan Dennet seems like an infinitely more open minded, compassionate, and considerate person than D'Souza.
