When Ray Thomas retired from The Moody Blues, Ian actually wanted the job because The Moodies were one of his long time favorite bands. He got there just a little too late and they had filled the spot. But I've always wondered how he would have impacted MB material and new songs. Might have been really cool to have Ian Anderson doing flute for them...

This is my second favourite Tull album after Songs From the Wood. This may answer the question: does music defy logic? :-)
Music is everything.

Oh, and if you really want funky music from the mind of IA...get a hold of his Walk Into Light album. Rupi's Dance, it is not.

That entire album was pretty funky I will say. This song isn't bad and he did fix Under Wraps 1 by doing Under Wraps 2. Then he fixed the band by hiring Doane Perry and as he said on the "A Little Light Music" live album, "decided it was better just to keep Dave (Pegg)". As for his current voice, well it is bad but I would still see a show. Wish he would stick to newer stuff though as he wrote that for his voice in its current state.

One of the better songs from an atypical and controversial Tull album.
It was Tull, none the less.

I really like the chorus with the flute, but the rest of the song is really really... blargh
i dont know speak in english... ha

I saw them about a year ago-Ian's voice wasn't as strong as it once was, but it was still a brilliant concert. Songs such as Aqualung were really strained, but he was fine with gentler acoustic songs, and he can still play the flute whilst hopping around on one leg, and reduced the entire venue to tears of laughter with his sense of humour.

if you all want to stop Ian from singing because his voice is shot.....you better stop Ozzy first.....he has absolutely sucked for many many years...... Last time I saw Tull was 2003......Ian's vioice was getting weaker then...but the show was still amazing...don't know about after Giddings and Noyce left

What an awful moment in tull history.

@mattccurtis Now is their Low point with Bass and Keyboard players picked up from the streets. And that Guitar player that they use when Martin Barre isn't in the band is not fit to carry Martin's underwear

PS - It's the cheesy 80's drum machine that I dislike the most.

I love JT and I think Under Wraps is a cracking album. JT are a progressive band, they need to do something a bit different now and then for them to evolve. This set them on the path to make Crest Of A Knave...and thats a really good album! Infact I think they're overdue for something slightly left of field again.
