Explaining why religious experience is not a reliable basis for religious belief. If you are going to belief in a God in general and a religion specifically, it cannot be based on religious experience.

Yeah I know that there are still glitches and such in the audio but those were not present in the original audio. This happens in the process of saving the video in its final form onto the harddrive. For some reasons I cuts out little bits of the audio at some points. I dont have a clue why that is. So this is the best I can do I'm affraid. But at least the annoying hissing sound in the original upload is no longer present. So although its not perfect, its definitely an approvement.

  • Is this a new video or a remake?

  • @Mectrixctic

    Its a re-upload. Audio redone.

  • And not a single theist will watch this video, and be convinced in the least that their personal experiences might not have the significance they've assign to them.

  • @TheNakedAtheist

Sad but true. However if you lookat people like Evid3nc3 you see that some Theists can change their mind regarding the meaning of their religious experiences

  • Yep, you pretty much summed up my problem with appealing to religious experience.

  • I don't get how that guy fell when he had his hand behind him or why they all chose to say "I believe in God" after. I've seen this entire documentary before and it makes no sense to me how these supposedly staunch skeptics could so easily come to believe in God because they fell down or whatever.

I wouldn't even believe in God because of things like this... -_-

  • I added a link to this video to the underbar of one of my videos:

  • @TheNakedAtheist It's that "Other Something" that I find interesting. Yeah the idea of a Divine Deity or Sky Daddy is rather simplistic & silly. But there is something that ties us all together that both atheist & theist alike either aren't aware of, or try to ignore. And to be honest it's not even something that's worth debating because either a person feels it or they don't. It's kind of like debating the feeling of a free fall in sky diving if you haven't experience it.

  • @coyoteself-you are merely a part of something other than what you think you are and it's a part of you as well.

I'm well aware of the fact that everything is made up of star stuff, and we're all part of the universe. It's this meaningless, undefined, evidence-less "other" something that I find amusing. :-)

  • @TheNakedAtheist Too simple a concept, or still freaked out by the use of the word "God?" No problem, throw out God completely and look at your own anatomy all the way down to the sub-atomic level and beyond. Now expand that out to what little we actually know of the universe & atheist or theist, you begin to see that you are merely a part of something other than what you think you are and it's a part of you as well. LOLOL
