Scot Drake is responsible for the horrible mess that are the Mark VIIs. Since they arrived, mods were made to the chassis, windows and station platforms all due to bad design. All this resulted in a much later opening than planned.
Bob Gurr, original designer of the DL monorails offered to help as a consultant. Scot Drake turned him away.
Today, the monorails constantly break down and quality issues are causing premature wear.

Monorail Red is always breaking down. I don't know why the even use it.

These trains were attractive when they debuted, but time revealed the extensive design and mechanical problems throughout. Disneyland needs to ditch these new monorails and go with a new designer and builder.
