Michael Cary of the Gagosian Gallery shows us around the show "Picasso: Mosqueteros" up now in Chelsea. The exhibition features Pablo Picasso's work from the years 1963-73, when Picasso returned to the studio with a vengeance after surgery for an ulcer. The show's curator, John Richardson, an old friend turned biographer of Picasso's, looks at many of the works in this show as self-portraits. He sees it in the eyes, the enormous, enormous eyes.
This is great stuff.
