Chapter closed or renamed? Iraq war over says president Obama in speech

President Barack Obama has made a live televised address to Americans, marking the official end of combat operations in Iraq. He said the war is now a closed chapter, and praised the U.S. military for helping to give Iraq back to its people. Although combat soldiers have left the country, 50-thousand U.S. troops remain there to train local forces. In his speech, Obama reiterated his pledge for a full pull-out in a year's time.

You know what's pathetic about this is that the date to end the war in Iraq was set back in November 2008 to end the war No later than Dec/31/2011. So congrats Obama, you ended the war 2 weeks before the date Bush set. Why do you give yourself credit for ending the war?

@Insaneo78 The invasion of Iraq happened was in response to a ceasefire Saddam did not not follow since 1991 when he signed the agreement. So no you cannot compare Germany to the USA.
