@JunkFoodShirt Agreed. If every king and queen were like Charles II Life would be a party for them...

@ZivaInNCISRox It was the 16th century and he was the king. He couldn't be punished for that and there was no person to do so. It was his right to have mistresses and punish his wives if he wanted to. I'm not a big fan of Henry VIII. I think his life is very intresting etc. but as a king, I do prefer Charles II. He had a lot respect for women and God. He never divorced his wife, even though he knew she would never be able to give him a heir.

@peacedesertrose I'd heard different things, I'd heard she said that apart from The Tudors...regardless, she died quite courageously, of that I'm sure no matter what was really said...we can't be sure what happened this far away in time, there is some debate that Shakespeare even wrote what he did...Kitty was a young vivacious woman that loved life, dancing, flirting, and nice clothes as all young girls should...there were worse people at the Tudor court...thanks for the reply

@notnek202 -They were the only two he could legally execute apart from his last wife Catherine Parr, who outlived him and Jane, his third wife who died in childbirth. His first wife Catherine, was a Spanish Princess so he couldn't kill her as it would have started a war.Anne of Cleeves was also a foreign Princess so he couldn't kill her either without starting a war between countries.

@SleepWhenIamDead These last words are only used in The Tudors and are false, they are made up. I think it was just to make it more emotional, and for the effect. Legend has it her last words were 'I die a Queen, but would rather die the wife of Culpepper' Which was also used in The Tudors.
This is a very bad representation of her execution. She went to her death with courage and did not break down and cry. As historian David Starkey remarked " She displayed much more dignity then she ever had as Queen"

wonder why the axe makes a metal on metal sound after cutting through flesh onto a wooden chopping block?
