For those of us in the predominantly White business world -- what have been your experiences with sisterlocks? when I wore a 'fro back in the day it obviously scared the s--- out of White people. I only realized this when I interviewed with the same person some months apart and had decided to straighten my hair and put it in bun. The same man who said I wasn't qualifed 4 mos before offered me a job on the spot, same resume, same suit even, just different hair!

how much does it cost to have Sister locs done?

Hi sekhetbastet. I do know how to do the wrap a lock technique, but have discovered a quicker and less expensive method for obtaining this style. I'll be revealing that info in a instructional DVD by year end.
I love your Locs... I just started my own locs today and I have two different hair texture. the sides and back did pretty well, but the top...whoo!!!! Anyway I've watched your interviews, and various videos, any suggestions for stubborn hair that won't twist?

Hi 803Lady. Looks like I haven't visited here in a while... sorry about that.. You're going to have to "train" your harder to coil hair into coiling. After you twist your hair, secure it with a small metal clip to hold the coil in place. You can clip near the scalp and half way down the coil too. Sit under the dryer for about 40 mins or let it air dry. Over time, you'll find that your twists will stay in longer and with less effort

I love the way your hair looks. how long was your natural hair when you started sister locks? Also, were they the smallest possible locs? (ie. do you have like around 600 locks, or are they a more mediums size?) I want to make sure i know what to tell the consultant when i get them done!
THANK YOU for your videos!!

Hi beatstopper. I transitioned directly out of permed hair by doing the two-strand twist. As my natural hair came in, I would cut off my damaged permed and colored ends. I had to wait approximately 8 months before getting my Sisterlocks with 3-4 inches of healthy natural hair. I have around 400 or so locks and they would be considered "medium". Thanks for watching and posting.
