Thomas Hartley, of Hornby, Lancashire, was awarded the Bursary to help further develop the social enterprise that is B4RN.
B4RN is a charity run by and for the local community which helps to connect the rural North West by installing a fibre-optic broadband network to the farms, businesses and villages in the area. It serves areas that are not seen as commercially viable by the telecoms operators.
The new Bursary Freelander 2 he will receive will allow him to reach the most remote of sites in the community.
