On May 6, 2008, Zalmay Khalilzad, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, delivered the annual Bernard Brodie Distinguished Lecture on the Conditions of Peace, sponsored by the Burkle Center for International Relations at UCLA.
During his talk, titled "The Challenges of the Broader Middle East", Khalilzad discussed U.S. foreign policy, the Iraq War and what must be done to reach peace in the Middle East.
He is our next president.
