Robert Ashley circa 1996 - Took First Place in Junior Black Belt Sparring and then went on to take First Place after being bumped into the Men's Competition. Beat Bill Hunter and Brian Spencer, only to lose to Chris Daly in the Grand Champion round.
It's point sparring, which means that it's more of like a game of tag than actual fighting. It's not as flashy as some of the MMA stuff that is so popular right now or even Tae Kwon Do sparring. But it's fun and relatively safe.
In the Black Belt divisions they let you pound a bit (as long as you don't draw blood), but I was only 17 at the time of this video.
