This quick demo of the FuzzBubble-45 was recorded after a very long recording session at Cloud 9 Recording on Long Island, New York. The session went 10 hours straight without a break, which sometimes happens in the studio. I used the FB-45 along with my vintage 1970 Gibson 6/12 EDS-1275 double neck. I plugged into one of my favorite amps - a 1967 Fender Vibroverb. I used this setup for the entire session.
At the end of the session, my brother, Joe, the recording engineer, grabbed his flip camera and said, "Don't unplug your guitar. While I've got everything miked up, sit back down again and go for it". This was not what I wanted to hear after a ten hour session!
But lo and behold, here's the demo. It was recorded totally off the cuff and in one take. While I was playing, I fooled around with the FB-45's controls. The one thing that you can really hear is how great the pedal sounds on both the 6 and 12 string necks. Usually, when you distort a 12 string, it sounds terrible. This is due to the nature of a 12 string having a lot of overtones. When distorted, they can become uncontrollable. But it doesn't happen in this case. Listen to how the 12 string retains its clarity, even when I play open chords. This is a beautiful sounding guitar and the FB-45 doesn't cover up its true tone. The personality of the guitar comes through. This is one of the things about the FB-45 that makes it very desirable and sets it apart from other distortion - fuzz face pedals. I've also got both necks on, and if you really listen, you can hear the sustain from the 12 string while I'm playing the 6 string......an old Jimmy Page trick. This is a great sounding guitar, and when combined with the FB-45 and my Fender amp, it was the perfect sound for the session.
