@RaefordRedneck I worked head gasket on my yota 22re and, tagged all vacuums with paint so I dont think about it!I used my wifes nails paint)))))!

@RaefordRedneck I took around 20 pictures of the engine before rebiuld and it helped greatly.

Did you remount your fuel filter in a different location? Its BS where Toyota put it under the intake.

@dixiemudtoy Okay. Because my head is noisey, but engnbldr recommends that I do the pistons when doing the head. Because of more stress on the rings could blw them. It makes sense. But if I do a copression test and am getting 170 PSI I think ill just do the head. I am only doing it because of a blown head gasket, and I figured I might as well do the head. I do have 80K less mileage than you and my truck has only seen highway use. Was that the stock bottom end and pistons on yours? Or was rebuilt
Man im bout to replace the heads on mine but i was wondering how you remembered where all the vacuum lines ran to?
i dont wanna tear it all apart then not remember where they went

@RaefordRedneck they usually fall into place where they're supposed to be...but if you have trouble you can look at a repair manual's vacuum line diagram or try tagging them with diff. color tape / paint / whiteout or something

@TheTwiggymanson watch part 2 and 3 for the motor as it's finished; in all about $1800

did you ever have any issues with the rings seating after adding those parts? I am going to replace my head but I am not sure if the added pressures will cause me to blow smoke.

@BigManlyMan4 nope...runs like a champ. my bottom end was still in pretty good shape though. It will be replaced soon as well...I want to add boost to the truck and will need forged bottom end and lower compression.
