Tom Burgess and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers take on the Tracy Ham led Edmonton Eskimos at BC Place in Vancouver.

Edmonton with the second best offence in the league was favoured to win by 2 and a half point's,but the Bombers number 1 ranked defence and the worst offence had other plans in mind.

The game was close in the first half, but with 10 min's left in the 3rd quarter the Bombers smashed Grey Cup scoring records for most points in a 3rd quarter and quarter overall with 28 pts, turning this game into the most lopsided win in CFL Grey Cup history, and 3rd in Grey Cup history overall.

  • I can't believe they took Tommy out to give Danny some mop-up time. This was Burgess' game. Once the got used to his new offense, Tommy took the Bombers to 12-6 and they were firing on all cylinders going into the playoffs. Classless move by Riley not to let his qb ride this game to the end. Glad he left the CFL. Dick move by any standards.

  • @wordster100 C'mon! It was a blowout, everyone got to play in the end,if u'r unhappy about Danny getting a shot,U must've been really pissed when 3rd stringer Sammy Garza got some game action -lol

  • Didn't Greg Battle go on to play for the Las Vegas Passe?

  • Yup! He also wound up coming back to play for the BB again.

  • BIG BLUE FOR LIFE

  • Ride your combine back to that armpit city Regina. Go and cry at the fact in an 8 team league, the Riders have only won 3 Grey Cups in the entire history of the CFL. Only 7 more wins to go and they'll tie the Bombers.

  • RIP Warren Hudson #37. One hell of a Canadian.

  • @veganisextremelygood

Hey, how'd that Grey Cup prediction pan out?

  • @WatchVenusSpa

However, it's anticipation and football IQ that makes for good defense in the NFL instead of just speed.

  • Best defense in CFL history. The level of team speed was greater than even the top echelon of the NFL.

  • WINNIPEG WILL CELEBRATE THE RETURN OF THE JETS AND THE GREY CUP IN 2011!

  • This team sounds like the team the Blue and Gold have this year. Great D with the worst offence.

    Go B O M B E R S !!

    2011 FTW!

  • @ShortySOM not to mention that they've only managed to finish first in their division twice since 1970 and 7 times since EVER

  • A very good Grey Cup game

  • @85MiltStegall85 Just thought I'd point out that for decades before the CFL officially formed, more than 8 teams were eligible to compete for the Grey Cup.
