Very sharp, out of pitch. Most of your "problems" could be solved with a round chamber mouthpiece. That tone quality could punch holes in the ceiling. Pitch problems galore, and mainly due to your mouthpiece. Check out a Caravan Mouthpiece or a David Bilger or something like that. You have good fingers, but the tone is NOT good!
I would recommend using some rhythmic freedom especially with the slow parts. You can convey a lot more emotion that way. It makes it harder for the pianist but its worth it. Nice sound!
I don't understand why people use videos like this to brag about their personal accomplishments...*SIGH*
There are some great moments in this. The first few measures feel very dead and lifeless, but you really start to get the emotional qualities of the piece going midway, especially at the climax. Cool down the vibrato, pull out 2 millimeters, and you've got a damn fine performance.
Wow this is absolutely amazing!!! Your sound and talent is awesome. I play the saxophone. I am only a junior in hight school, so I have some time still but WOW. I want to be able to play this like you played it!
yeah trying out for state isn't the most fun thing about solo and ensemble, as we all know, for there's so much competition and so few make it. but for this selection, i played it slower and used vibrato a bit more tactfully. also, it sounded like you spread on many of the high notes, but maybe it was just the recording
screw what all these people say, whatever minor technicalities that may have happened are a part of every live performance. You are fantastic
