  • It's an interupted cut and it's very hard steel, that's why the speed is down. I'm using HSS not carbide. On the Bridgeport with carbide it would be moving much faster. The video was shot for The Home Hobbyist, not the proffessional.

  • Yes, All it takes is a milling attachment on another lathe to reproduce the parts. The bed is cast and no that can't be made on another lathe. I mentioned any mechanical part can be remade.

  • Cutter speed is way too low.

  • Could you also square stock using a similar process?

  • Reproduce the bed? Crossfeed? Compound?
